Trump says he may tariff countries that don’t support his Greenland plan

US President Donald Trump has warned that he could place tariffs on countries that do not support his Greenland takeover plans.

European nations, including Germany, dispatched small numbers of military personnel to Greenland this week in preparation for the NATO Arctic Endurance military exercise.

German defence minister Boris Pistorius said: “Together with our NATO allies, we stand firmly alongside Greenland and Denmark, ladies and gentlemen.”

Meanwhile, Danish Joint Arctic Command head Soren Andersen dismissed suggestions of conflict between NATO allies, describing such a scenario as “hypothetical”.

“I don’t see a NATO ally attacking another NATO ally,” he said.
