US President Donald Trump has extended the tariff truce with China for another 90 days, avoiding a full-blown trade war with the world’s second-largest economy. Announcing it on Truth Social, Trump said he had signed an executive order to hold off on higher tariffs. That means the US and China now have until November to strike a deal. The new order stops US tariffs on Chinese goods from jumping to 145%, and prevents Chinese tariffs on US goods from hitting 125%, levels that would have amounted to a near trade embargo. But while things ease with China, the US is turning up the heat on India for the past two weeks. Trump has raised tariffs on Indian goods to 50%.
