US government shutdown disrupts air travellers | Trump ally seeks Russian energy sanction exemption

Flights across the United States are facing major disruptions, delays, and cancellations, as the longest US government shutdown hits travel services. A four per cent reduction in domestic flights is in effect, following an order from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Trump administration, has granted Hungary a one-year exemption from US sanctions on Russian oil and gas. President Trump welcomed his long-time ally to the White House for their first bilateral meeting since he returned to office.
