Police cracked down on people protesting a visit by the Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, on Monday evening. Footage provided to Guardian Australia by the Greens senator David Shoebridge shows one person being repeatedly punched by multiple police officers before being tackled to the ground. Police said 27 people were arrested and a number of protesters were treated after being pepper-sprayed. According to police, 10 officers were ‘assaulted’ but none of those assaults were serious.
