Central Australian singer and songwriter Warren H Williams could claim a piece of country music history at this weekend’s Golden Guitar Awards.
The Western Arrente artist has received two nominations for his song Ntaria. If he takes home an award it’ll be the first time a track entirely in an Aboriginal language has ever won a Golden Guitar. A tribute to his home community of Hermannsburg in Central Australia – Ntaria is a collaboration with Kasey Chambers who learned to sing in language specifically for the track.
NITV reporter Dan Rennie sat down with the artist in Tamworth.
