Relationship expert Melissa Ferrari told Yahoo Lifestyle why she thinks that the last month of the year can push couples to the brink.
She said, âI think itâs all to do with Christmas.â
âThereâs the people that say, âLetâs break up now before we have to buy each other giftsâ, or before we need to be in front of the family and the family sees that weâre not doing okay.â
Melissa added that the end-of-year period is usually a time of reflection, which can be âdistressingâ for some.
December 11 was deemed the most common day for break ups back in 2008 when more than 10,000 Facebook statuses were analysed to see when the American public were taking to social media to vent about their break ups.
But, it doesnât take too long for people to get back out there – with January 5 dubbed Tinderâs most popular day of the year.
