Compare the Market has revealed the five most common cat and dog names for the year, and the name that appeared at the top of both lists was Luna.
Compare the Market’s Chris Ford told Yahoo Lifestyle that Aussies are often drawn to pop culture references when naming their pets, explaining that “Anyone who watched the old Sailor Moon cartoons will remember her beloved black cat Luna, who was a straight-shooting spiritual guide and mentor.”
After Luna, Teddy, Coco, Milo, and Daisy were the other top dog names of the year, while Leo, Milo, Simba, and Charlie came out on top for cats.
