A media investigation has found that Iran reportedly built a secret network of more than 5,000 military agencies to import at least $2 billion in hardware, explosives and heavy-duty trucks since January 2025. The imports continued despite Western sanctions and a US naval blockade. The investigation links the network to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and powerful business conglomerates known as bonyads. Shipping records reportedly trace its financial footprint back to 2016. The findings shed light on how Iran has continued replenishing its missile and drone arsenals while firing thousands of them during the conflict that began on February 28.
