Divisive Coles act sparks debate about Aussie supermarket etiquette | #yahooaustralia

Etiquette specialist Kate Heussler told Yahoo Lifestyle, “The photo example here is the classic ‘gym bro flex.’ It’s a requirement to wear a shit in the gym, the same applies to other places of work.”

“It’s about hygiene, comfort for other shoppers, and the fact you’re in a commercial setting, not on the sand.”

She added, “If you wouldn’t walk into a pharmacy or a doctor’s waiting room shirtless, the same logic applies.”

A Coles spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle that while the supermarket has no particular clothing rules, it’s generally understood that the beach is a more appropriate place for being shirtless, barefoot, or in swimware.”
