In an interview with GQ, Sweeney explained, âI did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. Iâm literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.â
âI knew at the end of the day what that ad was for, and it was great jeans, it didnât affect me one way or the other.â
The campaign – which centered around the tagline, âSydney Sweeney Has Great Jeansâ – ignited online outrage over the company seemingly glorifying the actorâs genes and white heritage.
Sweeney added, âI know who I am. I know what I value. I know that Iâm a king person. I know that I love a lot⌠so I donât really let other people define who I am.â
